PRO8 JOINS THE COMMEMORATION OF THE ARAW NG KAGITINGAN (DAY OF VALOR) AND THE PHILIPPINE VETERANS WEEK.
Camp Ruperto K Kangleon, Palo, Leyte - April 9 of every year “Araw ng Kagitingan “ Pursuant to Executive Order 203 and April 5 – 11 of every year as declared by Presidential Proclamation No. 466 as the Philippine Veterans Week.
PCSUPT HENRY PELOBELLO LOSAÑES, PRO8 Regional Director says that the PNP joins the entire nation in celebrating the Araw ng Kagitingan and the Philippine Veterans Week from April 5 to 11, 2014 with the theme “Balik Tanaw sa Sakripisyo ng Beterano, Gabay sa Landas ng Pagbabago”. These events aim to commemorate the heroism of the Filipino and American troops during the World War II.
Camp Ruperto K Kangleon, Palo, Leyte - The Police Regional Office 8 under the leadership of PCSUPT HENRY PELOBELLO LOSAÑES, joins the millions of Filipino Roman Catholics in remembering the passion of Jesus Christ and expresses its solidarity with the Christian population in this most important religious event. As part of the annual religious activity of the PNP, the observance of the Lenten Season aims to inculcate and uplift the spiritual values of the PNP personnel that will bring about moral and spiritual transformation. This religious activity also serves as an impetus for every PNP personnel to unite and hope that genuine transformation should first be guided by faith and reverence in God.

A police officer on his way home laid life in exchange of several lives after responding instantaneously to a robbery incident that took place in a mini-bus bound to Ormoc City where he was on board.
