Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Campetic, Palo, Leyte – PRO 8 fully supports the advocacy of Vice President Leni Robredo against Extra Judicial Killings (EJK) but strongly denies the alleged “palit-ulo” scheme as it vows to uphold the Rule of Law at all times, declares PCSUPT ELMER C BELTEJAR, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 8.
This after the recorded speech uploaded on You Tube by the anti-drug network, DRCNet Foundation, wherein Robredo opposes the alleged extra judicial killings taking place under the Duterte administration. VP Robredo also pointed out that the “palit-ulo” scheme was allegedly used by the government literally as exchange heads where the wife or husband and/or relative of a person in a so-called drug list will be taken if the person himself could not be found.
Relatedly, the PNP reiterates that the alleged “palit-ulo” scheme is not in any way the policy or procedure in its Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign: “Double Barrel Reloaded”, BELTEJAR said.
He also said that the PNP leadership appeals before the good Vice President to trust the Philippine government law enforcement authorities particularly the PNP to investigate if and when there are violations and/or irregularities committed by its members rather than of seeking international attention/refuge.
Moreover, the public is encouraged to report any unlawful act or illegal activity involving police officers through the PNP-CITF Hotline Number 0998-970-2286 for immediate action.
Likewise, PRO8 is also urging the public to work with the police on its anti-criminality initiatives by way of giving relevant and timely information and to report to your nearest police stations or through social media (Twitter – @Pro8Pcrd or Facebook Page – Police RegionEight) or through the following: Dial 117 or text 888; RTOC 09173114794/09478907155.
