Joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 8-Northern Samar Police Office led by IO1 Elvis R Amata, Samar PO, RSET, PDEU-SPPO and Calbayog CPS apprehended Bernadith Maghacot, a Drug Den Maintainer and Paolo Absalon, a Visitor, for Violation of Sec. 5,6,7,11,12,15 and 26 of RA. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Said operating units conducted an intel-driven anti-illegal drug operation thru buy-bust which resulted to the apprehension of said violators and confiscation of the above-mentioned shabu.

Seized from their possession were one (1) piece one thousand peso bill as buy-bust money; one (1) piece tooter, one (1) piece jewelry box; one (1) piece black coin purse; one (1) unit keypad cellular phone; one (1) piece keychain; one (1) piece aluminium strip; one (1) piece aluminium foil; and cash money amounting to 6,820.00 in different denominations.

Said inventory of confiscated items were conducted in the presence of Hon. Felipe R. So, Brgy. Captain of said Brgy. and Mr Jason. Obong, Media Representative from Infinity Radio.

Further, a video coverage was taken with the use of Body-worn Camera in compliance with A.M. No.21-06-08-SC of the Supreme Court.

Apprehended persons along with confiscated items are now under the custody of PDEA 8 and cases are being prepared by the operatives for filing in court.

“We laud the efforts of our operatives with PDEA 8 on the lead. This successful accomplishment entails our commitment to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs anywhere in EV,” RD MARBIL said.

Said advocacy dubbed as PNP KASIMBAYANAN stands for Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan which endeavours to forge solid police-community relations with the general public and faith-based organizations thru collaborative partnerships anchored under C,PNP’s Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan Tungo sa Kaunlaran (MKK=K) Program.

The ceremony highlighted the distribution and pinning of the KASIMBAYANAN Pin Buttons to PNP personnel along with Kasimbayanan Advisers namely Pastor Gamaliel Aliposa, President, Churches and Ministers Association of Palo, Imam Ustadh Ismael D Cacharo, Imam Muslim Community and Spokeperson, (SPAG).

It culminated with the Ceremonial Signing of Pledge of Commitment spearheaded by RD, Command Group, R-Staff and other invited guests and various stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the PRO 8 Band introduced the “Life is Beautiful” jingle and sung in unison with all the attendees.

In his message, RD MARBIL emphasized the significant role of the religious sectors and the community influential in the attainment of genuine peace, security and progress as a whole. “Kinikilala natin ang kahalagahan ng pagtutulungan at pagkakapit-bisig ng bawat miyembro ng komunidad para sa kaunlaran at kaayusan ng ating buong sambayanan,” RD MARBIL said.
