Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – Police Regional Office 8 (PRO 😎 under the leadership of PBGEN ROMMEL FRANCISCO DAYLEG MARBIL, Regional Director, recorded a drop of 14.04 % in Crime Volume for the covered period January-July this year as compared to same period of last year.

This year, the latest crime data show that the Total Crime Incidents from January to July drops at 5,038 incidents as compared to last year’s 5,861 incidents covering the same period. This marks a significant decline of 823 incidents or a 14.04 % decrease in crime incidents in the region.

Likewise, for the Non-Index Crimes, there was a notable decrease of 87 or 44% from 200 to 113 incidents credited to Biliran Police Provincial Office; followed by Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office with 229 or 42% decrease from 541 to 312 incidents and Ormoc City Police Office with 79 or 42% decrease from 188 to 109 incidents.

Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) has the most decrease numbers of crimes from 1415 last year to 1032 this year of the same period with a decrease of 383 incidents.

“The significant decrease in crime incidents indicate a growing peace, order and security in all of Eastern Visayas which connotes that the entire police force is putting its best foot forward in the aspect of crime prevention,” PBGEN MARBIL said.
