Eastern Visayas Cops Sieze 102 Banned Weapons

 

Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – A total of 72 banned weapons were confiscated which includes 30 pcs of pellets/marbles for de holen gun, 27 ammunitions, 18 bladed/pointed weapons, 15 units of firearms (6 units of improvised gun, 5 units of cal. 38 revolver, 2 units of cal. 357 revolver and 1 unit each for air gun rifle and cal. 9mm), 5 units each of 30mm grenade launcher and fired cartridge and 1 unit each for magazine and holster. Also seized from the arrested persons include 7 pcs. heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing crystalline substance (suspected shabu) with an estimated market value of Php 3,500.00, 5 fighting cocks, 2 pcs. 500-peso bill as marked money, gaffs and boodle money amounting to Php 2,000.00 in a 9-day simultaneous operations of police authorities all over Eastern Visayas from April 16-24, 2019 under the supervision of Eastern Visayas Police Director, PBGEN DIONARDO BERNARDO CARLOS.

Leyte Police Provincial Office arrested 7 persons out of 7 operations conducted while Biliran Police Provincial Office arrested 5 persons out of 2 operations. Northern Samar Police Provincial Office arrested 5 persons out of 5 operations while Tacloban City Police Provincial Office arrested 4 persons out of 4 operations. Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office arrested 3 persons out of 2 operations while Samar Police Provincial Office arrested 3 persons out of 3 operations. Ormoc City Police Provincial Office arrested 2 persons out of 2 operations. These arrested persons (all civilians) were brought to their respective areas of jurisdiction for proper documentation and disposition.

The cases of the apprehended persons were: 12 counts each for Violation of BP Blg. 6 (An Act Reducing the Penalty for Illegal Possession of Bladed, Pointed or Blunt Weapons, and for other purposes), 11 counts each for Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), 3 counts of Frustrated Murder (Stabbing, Hacking and Shooting incidents), 2 counts for RA 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and 1 count each for Alarm and Scandal, Murder, Illegal Gambling and RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).

“We are intensifying our efforts in making Eastern Visayas a safer and secure place this coming Midterm elections,” PBGEN CARLOS said.

Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte- 3 Most Wanted Persons and 47 others, 17 Drug Personalities, 47 Illegal Fishers, 48 Illegal Gamblers and 9 Illegal Loggers were nabbed under the leadership of Eastern Visayas Police Director, PBGEN DIONARDO BERNARDO CARLOS. Such numerous accomplishments were made in a 6-day simultaneous police operations from April 16-21, 2019 all over the region by EV cops.

Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) arrested Morefil Seraño and Arturo Anobling, both Rank 1 MWPs for the crime of Rape. LPPO also arrested 23 other wanted persons with 3 counts for Theft, 2 counts for Acts of Lasciviousness, Murder and Violations of RA 9262, PD 1602 and RA 449. Also recorded were single cases for Grave Coercion, Direct Assault upon an Agent of a Person in Authority, Rape, Physical Injuries, Qualified Theft, and Violations of RA 9208, RA 9165, PD 705, Homicide. LPPO also arrested 6 drug personalities, seized from their possession were 20 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of “shabu”, 5 pcs. 500 peso bill, 1 pc. Cherry Mobile cellphone, 1 unit Samsung Galaxy A6, 1 pc. roll tin foil and Php 150 cash money. 15 illegal fishers were also arrested. Confiscated from the suspects were 9 units of motorized fishing boats, fine mesh nets, fish paraphernalia and 16 kilos of assorted fish with a total worth of P 168,900.00. 22 illegal gamblers were also arrested by LPPO. Confiscated from them were 4 sets of playing cards, 9 live fighting cocks, 3 pcs. dead fighting cocks, 4 pcs. gaffs, P 3,412 bet money. 3 illegal loggers were also arrested and seized from them were 500 bd. ft. of illegally sawn “lawaan” lumbers worth P 10,000.00.

Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO) arrested 3 other wanted persons for Estafa and Violations of PD 1602 and PD 1869, respectively. 14 illegal fishers were also arrested and confiscated from their possession were 8 units of fishing boats, 43 meters of fine mesh net, 70 kilos of assorted fish and other marine products with a total worth of P 134,310. 2 illegal gamblers were also arrested, confiscated from them were bet money worth P 943 and color game paraphernalia.

 Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (ESPPO) nabbed Jude Macalay Rank 10 MWP for Rape. 6 other wanted persons were also arrested with 2 counts for Grave Slander, and single count each for cases of Attempted Murder, Estafa, and Violations of BP 6 and RA 10654. 4 illegal fishers were also arrested and confiscated from their possession were 1 unit of fishing boat, 1 set of fishing net, fishing paraphernalia, and 1 kilo of fish with a total worth of P 90,000. Lastly, ESPPO arrested 13 illegal gambling and confiscated from them were 2 sets of playing cards, 6 live and 7 dead fighting cocks, 1 pc. big pot, 4 pcs. gaffs, assorted slippers, and bet money worth P 1,661.

Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO) nabbed Jonel Banoson Rank 8 MWP for Acts of Lasciviousness. 6 other wanted persons were also arrested with 2 counts for Rape and Murder, and single count each for cases of Frustrated Murder and Qualified Theft. SPPO also apprehended 1 drug personality. Confiscated from the suspect were 3 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of “shabu”. 1 pc. 500 peso bill used as buy-bust money, and 1 unit Samsung grey cellphone. 2 illegal fishers were also arrested. Seized from the were 2 units of fishing vessels, 2 sets of fine mesh nets and assorted catched fish with a total worth of P 52,800. Also, 4 illegal loggers were arrested, seized from them were 34 pcs. of illegally cut lumbers with a total volume of 248 bd. ft. and 1 unit of pump boat with total worth of confiscated items is P 108,800.

Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO) arrested 4 other wanted persons with single count each for cases of Frustrated Homicide, Multiple Murder, Slight Physical Injury, and Robbery with Homicide. 2 illegal loggers were also arrested and confiscated from them were 758.5 bd. ft. of illegally sawn lumbers with a total worth of P41,965. 2 illegal gamblers were also arrested. Confiscated from them were 4 live and 2 injured fighting cocks, 2 pcs. gaffs and P 200 cash money.

Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) arrested 3 other wanted persons with single cases each for Frustrated Homicide, Homicide and Theft. 4 drug personalities were also arrested. Confiscated from them were 8 pcs. heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of “shabu”, 1 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of “marijuana”, and 3 pcs.  P 500 peso bill used as buy-bust money and sling bag Camelbak. 1 illegal gambler was also arrested and confiscated from him were 2 live fighting cocks with gaffs.

Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO) arrested 2 other wanted persons with single case each for Esata and Grave Oral Defamation. 6 drug personalities were also arrested by OCPO operatives. Confiscated from the suspects were 18 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of “shabu’ 3 pcs. 500 peso bill used as marked money, 1 marijuana pipe, 1 Cal.38 revolver, 3 pcs. live ammunition, 2 lighters, 2 used aluminum foil and cash money worth P 1,360. 7 illegal gamblers were also arrested. Seized from the suspects were 14 dead fighting cocks, 13 pcs. gaffs, 1 set playing cards, and bet money worth P 1,570.

Biliran Police Provincial Office (BPPO) arrested 13 illegal fishers and confiscated from them were 3 units of fishing boats, and assorted fishing paraphernalia with a total worth of P1,000,000.
