Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Campetic, Palo, Leyte – PCSUPT ELMER CRUZ BELTEJAR, Acting Regional Director, Police Regional Office 8 congratulates PNP operatives for a successful drug buy-bust operations in different parts of Eastern Visayas for the last 24 hours.
A certain Boien Chiong aka “Boyen” was neutralized by elements of Ormoc City PNP during the buy-bust operation at about 8:20 PM of July 13, 2016 at Oriental Pension Plaza, Rizal St., Ormoc City. According to reports, that while the transaction was on progress, the suspect sensed the presence of the police officers which prompted him to get a gun and fired twice towards the arresting team. The police officers returned fire hitting the suspect in different parts of his body which resulted to his death. Recovered from the suspect were one medium heat sealed sachet of shabu; 1 piece Php 500.00 bill with serial No. ST306907 used as marked money and one unit caliber 45 pistol “Colt”, bearing serial Nol. 1672970 with a magazine loaded with four ammos.
In separate operations, a certain Liezel Barandino, 18 years old was arrested in Calbayog, Samar; Alex Aureo y Catamura, No. 2 on Sibat 2 Target in Baybay, Leyte; Angel Seclon y Maturan in San Juan, Southern Leyte; and 5 others in Palompon Leyte identified as Renan Hanopol y Damayo, No. 1 on Sibat 2 Target of Tabango, Leyte; Michael Monsanto y Arabis, No. 2 on Sibat 2 Target of Villaba, Leyte; Felixberto Astrologo y Hanopol, Francisco Nobela y Dellimar and John Mark Ursabia were also arrested.
Aside from these accomplishments, 3 drug users in Tabontabon, 10 in Carigara in Leyte and 18 drug pushers in Inopacan voluntarily surrendered to PNP.
According to PCSUPT BELTEJAR, in the days ahead, the campaign to win the war against drugs will continue.
