Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Campetic, Palo, Leyte – PCSUPT ELMER CRUZ BELTEJAR, Acting Regional Director, Police Regional Office 8 directs Tacloban City Police Office to immediately prepare criminal and subsequently administrative charges against PO2 Emmanuel Mari and a certain Mark Peñaranda y Germanez, who were caught in the act of using shabu at Brgy 54, Esperaz Ave,Tacloban City at about 10:00 AM, July 14, 2016
TCPO CAIDSOTG responded to a call for police intervention on the alleged pot session. Suspects were caught in the act of using suspected shabu. Confiscated were one empty plastic sachet, 3 pcs heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, tin foil strips, 2 pcs lighters and plastic container with label Sprite and several rolled tin foil strips.
PCSUPT ELMER CRUZ BELTEJAR, Acting Regional Director, PRO8 has ordered a wide-ranging investigation to look into the alleged involvement of other police officers. Involved individuals must be wary because this operation is just the start of continuing transformation and cleansing of the police ranks.
The Acting Regional Director further added that the PNP does not and will not tolerate any criminal offenders even if they are members of the organization. Police officers should be the one to ensure that the law is properly implemented and not the other way around.
The PNP will continue its revitalized campaign against illegal drugs through the intensive implementation of Project Double Barrel with close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and will strive hard to eliminate illegal drug trafficking and abuse in Region.
