CIDG Operatives Nab Southern Leyte Cop


          Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) detectives of Southern Leyte Provincial Field Unit arrested a certain PO3 Ramil Bilbao y Aragon during the entrapment operation led by PINSP HERBERT M MENDOZA, Provincial Chief, CIDG, SL, PFU on February 2, 2019, 4:00 PM at JMJ Pension Hotel/Motel, Brgy. Tampoong, Sogod, Southern Leyte.

          Bilbao, 31 years old, male, married, a resident of Brgy. Combado, Maasin City, Southern Leyte is presently assigned at Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO).

          He was caught by the CIDG detectives inside the motel together with a Grade 10 student, 16 years old, single, also a resident of Brgy. Combado, Maasin City, Southern Leyte.

          The operation was rooted from the victim and her mother’s complaint with CIDG relative to Violation of RA 7610 through the use of social media. Their grievances indicated that the police officer had a dummy facebook/messenger account using the old CIDG logo. With the said account, he was blackmailing the victim in exchange for explicit acts.

          This entrapment resulted to Bilbao’s arrest and the seizure of evidences to wit; one (1) unit of OPPO mobile phone; two (2) pieces of sim card; one (1) piece of usb flash drive; one (1) robust food supplement tablet; three (3) pieces of lubricated condoms; one (1) unit of cal. 9mm pistol with Serial # PNP 21910; three (3) magazines loaded with 39 live 9mm ammunition; PNP ID and other personal Identification Cards and personal belongings.

          Bilbao was then brought to CIDG-Southern Leyte PFU along with the seized evidences for filing of appropriate charges.

          “The safety and security of the community and its citizens is our top priority, any violator will not be spared, especially if he/she is part of the PNP organization. Let us not forget that the PNP organization takes the lead role in public safety, let us keep it that way,” RD Carlos said.
