5 High-Value Individuals Fall in Police Operations
Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO8) under the leadership of PBGEN FERDINAND O DIVINA scored 5 High-Value Individuals in a 9-day police operations conducted from January 12 – 20, 2020 throughout Eastern Visayas.
Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 8 (PDEA8), arrested Rodel Raagas y Agullo a.k.a. “Ugsad”, 34 years old and a resident of Brgy Highway, Dulag, Leyte. Raagas is listed as Top 19 High-Value Individual (HVI) in Provincial Level. He is now detained at Dulag Municipal Police Station.
Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (ESPPO) arrested the Top 2 Most Wanted Person in Balangiga, Eastern Samar for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). The accused was identified as Wildiofortes Abarico y Abing, 58 years old, married, self-employed and a resident of Brgy. 06, Poblacion, Balangiga, Eastern Samar. He was brought to Balangiga Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to his turn-over to the Regional Trial Court Branch 42, Balangiga, Eastern Samar.
Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO), in coordination with PDEA8 apprehended Rolando Cagomoc y Baculanta a.k.a “Lan-Lan”, 49 years old, married, painter and a resident of Brgy. Balud, Calbayog City, Samar. The suspect, who is listed as a High-Value Individual, is now detained at Calbayog City Police Station.
Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO), in coordination with PDEA8 conducted a buy-bust operation and arrested Henry Ada y Gerbon, 44 years old, habal-habal driver and a resident of Brgy. Libertad, Gamay, Northern Samar. He is also listed as a High-Value Individual. Ada is currently detained at Gamay Municipal Police Station.
Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO) Drug Enforcement Unit likewise conducted a buy-bust operation against one Glen Gildo y Castillon, of legal age, jobless and a resident of Brgy Poblacion, Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte. He is listed as a High-Value Individual and a member of the Acasio Drug Group. Said operation resulted in a shootout.
During the buy-bust, the suspect fired against the operating team after having sensed to have made the said transaction with police officers. This prompted the team to defend themselves and returned fire. The suspect suffered from gunshot wounds and was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment. However, he reportedly died while being treated.
