PRO8 Celebrates 29th PNP Foundation Day

 

Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte- The Police Regional Office 8 headed by PBGEN FERDINAND O DIVINA, Regional Director celebrated the PNP’s 29th Founding Anniversary coinciding with the Flag Raising Ceremony with Atty. Johnson G Reyes, Regional Director, National Police Commission 8 (NAPOLCOM 8) as the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHS) on February 10, 2020 at PRO8 Grandstand.

The celebration started with a wreath laying ceremony at the PRO8 BANTAYOG NG MGA BAYANI (Heroes Monument), as a day of remembrance and a tribute for the PNP personnel who were killed in action during police operations. It was witnessed by the wives of the late Police Corporal Arman S Batucan and Patrolman Mark Jerome S Rama together with the GOHS.

RD DIVINA with the GOHS, ATTY. JOHNSON G. REYES, spearheaded the distribution of awards to deserving PNP personnel. The awardees were PCPT DELFIN DINKY BOY MAZO BARDILLON, PCMS Jose Ma Raymundo Alvarez Garchitorena and PSSg Jocelyn Roa Alamo for their meritorious acts performed during the successful manhunt operation on January 12, 2020 at Brgy. San Roque, Tanauan, Leyte which resulted in the arrest of Felicito Cornejo Jr y Malate, charged for the crime of Rape and Sexual Assault,and listed No.1 in the Top Ten Most Wanted Persons in the Provincial Level of Leyte Police Provincial Office; PSSg Cyril Parena Suarez and PSSg Ariel Yurag Maderazo for their commendable performance of duty  during the successful entrapment operation which resulted in the arrest of Nora Aragon y Veruen and five (5) others for Violation of RA 10175 (Qualified Trafficking in Persons committed through, by and with the Use of Information Technology) on October 9, 2019 at Brgy. Victory, Caibiran, Biliran; and NUP Fely O Casas for her utmost dedication to duty and for her invaluable services rendered to Police Regional Office 8 resulting in the 100% accomplishment in the encoding and uploading of affidavit for the no handgun issuance and charging of firearms on stock in the Logistics Data Information Management System (LDIMS) Database for a reliable firearms record as of January 30, 2020.

ATTY. REYES emphasized on the kind of individual who is driven by desire and purpose on becoming a better person. “Shutdown those old mindless habits, and start doing things that are really important to you,” he says. He ended his message with a quotation, “Every action you take is a vote to the person you wish to become. No single instance will transform your beliefs, but as the voters build up, so does the evidence of your new identity.”

The event ended with the blessing of the newly-repaired one (1) unit Toyota Hilux vehicle by the Logistical Direct Support Unit of this Office which was turned-over to the 804th Mobile Force Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 8.
