PRO8 Implements 8-Bullet Test in EV
Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte- In line with the Focus Directives of Police General ARCHIE FRANCISCO GAMBOA, Chief, Philippine National Police, the Police Regional Office 8 headed by PBGEN FERDINAND O DIVINA, Regional Director, through the Office of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division (RLDDD) is conducting the 8-Bullet Test to all its PNP personnel.
RLDDD8 is tasked to facilitate the conduct of the said 8-bullet test aimed to standardize, develop and increase the level of confidence and proficiency of each PNP personnel in using their issued short firearms which will be conducted on a quarterly basis. This will also instill the proper handling and familiarization of short firearms on the safety procedures during the actual/live firing.
The 8-bullet test consists of 4 strings: string 1 with a distance of 5meters, string 2 of 7meters, string 3 of 10meters and string 4 of 15meters.Shooters should pass the string 1 before proceeding to string 2 and to the next succeeding strings. Maximum of 3 trials could be undertaken by the shooters in each string.
PRO8, with a total strength of 8, 826 PNP personnel, is among the PNP Regional Offices to immediately implement the conduct of said 8-bullet test having started with the Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO) on February 25-27, 2020. As of this writing, RLDDD has conducted the 8-bullet test to more than 700 PNP personnel. Also, said Office composed an 8-Bullet Test Mobile Training Team spearheaded by PLTCOL RAYMUNDO GRAVELES as the overall in-charge in the conduct of the said test.
Following are the schedules per Division/PPO/CPO/RMFB8: Regional Headquarters, March 4-6, 2020; Tacloban City Police Office, March 10-11, 2020; Leyte Police Provincial Office, March 16-20, 2020; Ormoc City Police Office, April 2-3, 2020; Biliran Police Provincial Office, March 31 – April 1, 2020; Samar Police Provincial Office, April 13-17, 2020; Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office, April 27-30, 2020; Northern Samar Police Provincial Office, May 12-15, 2020; and Regional Mobile Force Battalion, May 26-28, 2020.
“This is one way of honing the marksmanship skills of our police officers especially that we are expected of carrying out our duties and responsibilities with proficiency and utmost competence,” RD DIVINA says.
