PRO8 Records More Arrests on CQ Violators
Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO8) led by PBGEN BERNABE M BALBA, Regional Director, gave updates on violators of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) or “Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of a Person in Authority and the Implementation of Curfew” while the entire Region is still observing Community Quarantine.
Following the implementation of Community Quarantine, each Local Government Unit (LGU) in Eastern Visayas has its own adaptation/modifications of the strict directive. Thus, in compliance to such, anyone who violates said directive is subject for arrest after giving a stern warning. As of March 15-31, 2020, this PRO has already arrested 226 violators from the different provinces and cities.
Of the 226 violators, 49 of whom are from Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO); 28 from Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO); 14 from Biliran Police Provincial Office (BPPO); 5 from Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO); 46 from Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (ESPPO); 73 from Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO); 8 from Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) and 3 from Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO).
As one of the preventive measures to preempt the spread of COVID19, Security Operations Response or COVID19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) is installed as border control/checkpoints composed of the PNP, AFP, BFP, PCG, PPA, BJMP, LGUs, CDRRMO, CHO, other government offices and force multipliers.

Meanwhile, of the 226 violators, 12 of them are Persons Under Monitoring (PUM).
