EV Cops Nab 11 Most Wanted Persons and 697 other Offenders

 

Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte- Despite the scourge of COVID-19, under the leadership of Regional Director, PBGEN BERNARBE M BALBA, there is no let up in the conduct of police operations. As a result, PRO8 nab 11 most wanted persons and 250 other wanted persons; 24 illegal drug personalities including 4 High Value Individuals (HVIs); 187 illegal fishers; 225 illegal gamblers; and 27 illegal loggers were nabbed by EV Cops in a 30-day continuous and region-wide police operations from March 11-April 9, 2020

Personnel of Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) under the leadership of PCOL RODELIO C SAMSON, Acting Provincial Director nabbed 3 MWPs for the crimes of Murder and Robbery. LPPO also arrested 75 other wanted persons for the crimes of Rape; Homicide; Attempted Homicide; Frustrated Murder; Qualified Theft; Robbery; Alarm and Scandal; Grave Slander; Less Serious Physical Injury; Malversation of Public Funds; Direct Assault; Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 7581 (Price Act); R.A No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act); R.A. No. 8048 (Coconut Preservation Act of 1995); R.A. No. 9175 (Chain Saw Act of 2002); R.A. No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004); R.A. No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act); R.A. No. 10654 (An Act to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing, Amending Republic Act No. 8550, and for Other Purposes); P.D. No. 449 (Cockfighting Law of 1974); P.D. No. 705; P.D. No. 1602 (Prescribing Stiffer Penalties on Illegal Gambling); B.P. Personnel of Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO) under the leadership of PCOL NELSON D EUCOGCO, Provincial Director nabbed 1 MWP for the crime of Murder and 34 other wanted persons for the crimes of Homicide; Grave Threats; Alarm and Scandal; Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code); R.A. No. 9262; R.A. No. 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act); P.D. No. 1602 and B.P. Blg. 6.

Personnel of Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO) under the leadership of PCOL ANDRE P DIZON, Provincial Director nabbed 4 MWPs for the crimes of Rape and Murder and R.A. No. 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. SPPO also arrested 30 other wanted persons for the crimes of Murder; Frustrated Murder; Less Serious Physical Injury; Qualified Theft; Robbery; Oral Defamation; Grave Threats; Acts of Lasciviousness; Direct Assault upon an Agent of Person in Authority; Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 7581; R.A. No. 7610; R.A. No. 8282 (Social Security Act); R.A. No. 8294 (An Act Amending the Provisions of PD No. 1866); R.A. No. 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997); R.A. No. 9165; R.A. No. 10591; R.A. No. 10586 (Anti- Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013); R.A. No. 11332 and P.D. No. 449.

Personnel of Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO) under the leadership of REYNALDO B DELA CRUZ, Provincial Director nabbed 3 MWPs for the crimes of Rape and Murder. NSPPO also arrested 26 other wanted persons for the crimes of Murder; Alarm and Scandal and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority. Violations of R.A. No. 4136; R.A. No. 7581; R.A. 10591; R.A. No. 11332; P.D. No. 449; P.D. No. 1602 and B.P Blg 6.

Personnel of Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (ESPPO) under the leadership of PCOL CARLITO D ABRIZ, Provincial Director nabbed 43 other wanted persons for the crimes of Attempted Homicide; Qualified Theft; Alarm and Scandal; Malversation of Public Funds; Violations of R.A. No. 4136; R.A. No. 9262; R.A. No. 11332; P.D. No. 1602 and BP Blg. 6.

Personnel of Biliran Police Provincial Office (BPPO) under the leadership of PCOL JULIUS M COYME, Provincial Director nabbed 1 MWP for the crime of Theft. BPPO also arrested 9 other wanted persons for the crimes of Attempted Murder; Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority and Violation of R.A. No. 11332 and B.P. Blg. 881 (Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines).

Personnel of Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) under the leadership of PCOL MICHAEL A DAVID, City Director nabbed 27 other wanted persons for the crimes of Attempted Rape; Robbery; Theft; Alarm and Scandal; Slight Physical Injury; Estafa; Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Direct Assault; Violations of R.A. No. 9711 (Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009); R.A. No. 11332; P.D. No. 705 and P.D. No. 1619 (Penalizing the Use or Possession or the Unauthorized Sale to Minors of Volatile Substances for the Purpose of Inducing Intoxication or in any manner changing, distorting or disturbing the auditory, visual or mental process).

Personnel of Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO) under the leadership of PCOL ARMEL S GONGONA, City Director nabbed 6 other wanted persons for the crimes of Frustrated Murder; Robbery; Malicious Mischief; Alarm and Scandal and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority. Violations of RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines); R.A. No. 7581; R.A. No. 9165 and BP Blg. 6.

Said operations also resulted in the apprehension of 24 illegal drug personalities including 4 HVIs and the confiscation of 72 pcs heat-sealed plastic sachets suspected as shabu and Php 12,000.00 used as marked money. 187 illegal fishers were also arrested and confiscated from them were assorted fish and fishing paraphernalia worth Php 9, 004,015.00. Also, 225 illegal gamblers with Php 43,140.00 worth of bet money and 27 illegal loggers with different dimensions of lumber worth Php 151,178.00 were arrested.

“Amidst this crisis, our campaign against any criminality continues and as we face this unseen enemy, I appeal to everyone to stay at home to save lives,” PBGEN Balba said.
