PRO 8 Extends Assistance to 2,015 Families in Eastern Visayas
Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – In this time of crisis, the police force of Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 under the leadership of PBGEN BERNABE MENDOZA BALBA, Regional Director extended assistance to 2, 015 families with 8, 939 individuals in the whole Eastern Visayas as of April 23, 2020.
This is in line with the PNP’s “Kapwa Ko Sagot Ko, Adopt A Family Program” wherein All PNP personnel are encouraged to adopt indigent families in their area of responsibility. The assistance composed of grocery items, food packs, other goods and voluntary cash donations which is expected to last for at least one week to sustain the families’ dire needs. This is also a continuing project of the PNP.
PRO 8 is doing its best in battling this invisible enemy, hence, all PNP personnel are making initiatives in helping the community not only by safeguarding the people but also in financial aspects.
“We, at the PNP, understand how difficult living nowadays in these backbreaking moments. We sympathize the community, especially those who have less income to sustain their daily needs. I hope that with this continuing project, we can at least ease the burden of some of the families who are adversely affected by this pandemic. We can assure you that our police force remains MALINIS, MAGALANG, and MAAASAHAN in enforcing law and order and extending help to those in need,” says RD Balba.
