PRO8 Priest Blesses Frontliners as Best Practice

Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Campetik, Palo, Leyte – Police Regional Office 8 under the command of PBGEN BERNABE M BALBA, Regional Director through the Regional Chaplain Service 8 (RCS 8) headed by the Regional Pastoral Officer, PMAJ TEDDY M DAVID initiated a prayer and blessing activity to the Frontliners manning the Quarantine Control Points (QCPs) in the different Provinces and Cities in Eastern Visayas on April 21 –30, 2020.

To help the government contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, churches in Eastern Visayas have suspended all masses and other religious activities to avoid mass gatherings while still allowing the parishioners to be one in prayer even they are at home.

The Regional Chaplain Service 8 (RCS 8) initiated a Prayer and Blessing Activity even in the midst of this health crisis in different provinces and cities purposely to support and uplift the spiritual needs of all PNP and other Frontliners manning the Quarantine Control Points (QCPs). This activity as one of the best practices of the Regional Chaplain Service 8 (RCS 8) to connect with other people and encourage them to be one in prayer in fighting against the invisible enemy.

Further, RCS 8 also celebrates the Catholic Mass every Sunday in the Chapel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at Camp Kangleon, Brgy Campetic, Palo, Leyte via Facebook Live.

“Let us never forget to spend time and connect to our ultimate creator, we have an invisible enemy but we have as well an invisible God who is with us to win this health crisis,” RD Balba said.
