EV Cops Nab 17 Most Wanted Persons and 938 other Offenders

 

Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte- Police Regional Office 8 (PRO 8) under the leadership of Regional Director, PBGEN BERNARBE M BALBA, 4 most wanted persons and 378 other wanted persons; 32 illegal drug personalities including 3 High Value Individuals (HVIs); 187 illegal fishers; 311 illegal gamblers; and 30 illegal loggers were nabbed by EV Cops in an 18-day continuous and region-wide police operations from April 10-27, 2020.

Personnel of Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) under the leadership of PCOL RODELIO C SAMSON, Acting Provincial Director nabbed 5 MWPs for the crimes of Rape and Murder. LPPO also arrested 82 other wanted persons for the crimes of Rape; Attempted Murder; Frustrated Murder; Attempted Homicide; Qualified Theft; Alarm and Scandal; Acts of Lasciviousness; Libel; Falsification and Use of Falsified Document; Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 7581 (Price Act); R.A. No. 8048 (Coconut Preservation Act of 1995); R.A. No. 9175 (Chain Saw Act of 2002); R.A. No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004); RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012); R.A. No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act); R.A. No. 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act); P.D. No. 449 (Cockfighting Law of 1974); P.D. No. 705 (Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines);  P.D. No. 1602 (Prescribing Stiffer Penalties on Illegal Gambling); B.P. Blg. 6 (An Act Reducing the Penalty for Illegal Possession of Bladed, Pointed or Blunt Weapons, and for Other Purposes, Amending for the Purpose of Presidential Decree No. 9).

Personnel of Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office (SLPPO) under the leadership of PCOL NELSON D EUCOGCO, Provincial Director nabbed 1 MWP for the crime of Qualified Trespass to Dwelling and 53 other wanted persons for the crimes of Direct Assault upon an Agent of Person in Authority; Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 10591; P.D. No. 449 and P.D. No. 1602.

Personnel of Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO) under the leadership of PCOL ANDRE P DIZON, Provincial Director nabbed 8 MWPs for the crime of Rape; Statutory Rape; Murder; Frustrated Murder and R.A. No. 8550 (The Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998). SPPO also arrested 22 other wanted persons for the crimes of Murder; Attempted Murder; Frustrated Homicide; Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority and Direct Assault upon an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 7581 (Price Act); R.A. No. 10593 (Coconut Preservation Act of 1995); R.A. No. 11332 and P.D. No. 1602.

Personnel of Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO) under the leadership of REYNALDO B DELA CRUZ, Provincial Director nabbed 1 MWP for the crime of Frustrated Murder. NSPPO also arrested 35 other wanted persons for the crimes of Attempted Homicide; Frustrated Homicide; Robbery; Qualified Theft; Grave Threats; Physical Injury; Alarm and Scandal; Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Illegal Use of Uniforms or Insignia; Direct Assault upon an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 9175; R.A. No. 11332 and P.D. No. 705.

Personnel of Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (ESPPO) under the leadership of PCOL CARLITO D ABRIZ, Provincial Director nabbed 1 MWP for the crime of Murder. Also, 56 other wanted persons for the crimes of Murder; Frustrated Murder; Homicide; Frustrated Homicide; Libel; Alarm and Scandal; Acts of Lasciviousness; Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Illegal Use of Uniforms or Insignia; Violations of RA No. 7161 (An Act Incorporating certain sections of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1977, as amended, to Presidential Decree No. 705); R.A. No. 9262; RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA No. 11469 (An Act Declaring the Existence of a National Emergency Arising from the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation and a National Policy in connection therewith, and Authorizing the President of the Republic of the Philippines for a limited period and subject to restrictions, to exercise powers necessary and proper to carry out the declared National Policy and for other purposes); R.A. No. 11332; P.D. No. 449; P.D. No. 705 and P.D. No. 1602 were arrested.

Personnel of Biliran Police Provincial Office (BPPO) under the leadership of PCOL JULIUS M COYME, Provincial Director nabbed 66 other wanted persons for the crimes of Murder; Alarm and Scandal; Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority and Violations of R.A No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act); RA 10591 and R.A. No. 11332; B.P. Blg. 6 and B.P. Blg. 881 (Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines).

Personnel of Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) under the leadership of PCOL MICHAEL A DAVID, City Director nabbed 1 MWP for the Violation of RA No. 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and 29 other wanted persons for the crimes of Rape; Attempted Murder; Frustrated Murder; Qualified Theft; Theft; Slight Physical Injury; Alarm and Scandal; Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 11332 and B.P. Blg. 6.

Personnel of Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO) under the leadership of PCOL ARMEL S GONGONA, City Director nabbed 35 other wanted persons for the crimes of Estafa; Resistance and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority; Violations of R.A. No. 7581 and R.A. No. 11332.

Said operations also resulted in the apprehension of 32 illegal drug personalities including 3 HVIs and the confiscation of 89 pcs heat-sealed plastic sachets suspected as shabu; 38 pcs heat-sealed plastic sachets suspected as marijuana; and Php 16,000.00 used as marked money. 187 illegal fishers were also arrested and confiscated from them were assorted fish and fishing paraphernalia worth Php 4,083,460. Also, 311 illegal gamblers with Php 41,608.00 worth of bet money and 30 illegal loggers with different dimensions of lumber worth Php 3,163,516.2 were arrested.
