Paranas MDDRMO Rescues Typhoon “Ambo” Victim
Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Campetik, Palo, Leyte – Personnel of Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) of Paranas, Samar rescued Mr. Edmundo Jumagdao, fisherman, whose boat was accidentally capsized due to bad weather condition caused by Typhoon Ambo on May 14, 2020 in Brgy. 1, Poblacion, Paranas, Samar.
Jumagdao is 56 years old, married and a resident of Brgy. Jia-an, Jiabong, Samar. While he was on his way home on board his motorboat from Daram, Samar, his motorboat was accidentally capsized due to the raging waves brought by Typhoon Ambo at the seashore of Jia-an, Jiabong, Samar. Fortunately, he was able to swim until he reached the vicinity of Brgy. 1, Poblacion, Paranas, Samar where he was rescued by the personnel of MDRRMO, Paranas.
The victim was then turned-over to Paranas Municipal Police Station for documentation.
“I advise the public to keep informed and monitor the weather update to prevent any accidents during the onslaught of any typhoon,” says PBGEN BERNABE MENDOZA BALBA, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 8.
