Eastern Visayas Police Condemns killing and ambush of Samar Cops

 

      Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – PRO8 led by no less than Eastern Visayas Police Director, PCSUPT DIONARDO BERNARDO CARLOS is looking into the death of PO3 Glenn Meniano and wounding of PO1 Jane Abejar and 1 civilian identified as Silvestre Igdalino in an ambush incident early morning today, March 11, 2019 at about 7:15 AM at Maharlika Highway, near Motiong New Gallera vicinity of Brgy. 1A, Motiong, Samar.

      According to PO1 Jane Abejar, the wounded personnel of the said incident, while she and the driver, PO3 Meniano were on-board a Mahindra Mobile Patrol car of Motiong Municipal Police Station and traversing back to the station after they have fetched water from Paranas MPS, there were (2) big explosions occurred followed by series of gunfire by unidentified personnel at the above-mentioned place.

      PO1 Jane Abejar was hit by shrapnel to the different parts of her body but was able to run for safety. She was then brought to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

      RD Carlos went immediately to the incident area to personally look into the incident. He is with a heavy heart upon knowing the sad news.

      PNP PRO8 deeply condemns such act of violence. Thus, the public is encouraged to be of help and be cooperative to the authorities in reporting unusual movements in their places.

      PRO8 is now assisting the bereaved family of PO3 Meniano while praying for the fast recovery of PO1 Abejar. AFP and PNP Troopers are conducting hot pursuit operations to bring the terrorist-killers before the bar of justice.

PRO8 Opens 4 Vacant Positions for Non-Uniformed Personnel

 

       Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – Police Regional Office 8 announces that there are four vacant positions for Non- Uniformed Personnel that are open for applications for interested and qualified applicants.

       The NUP’s positions that are open for application are, Fingerprint Examiner II and Public Relations Assistant in Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office (ESPPO), one Fingerprint Examiner II in Ormoc City Police Office, and Administrative Assistant I (Computer Operator I) in Jiabong MPS, Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO). All appointees to the said positions must be assigned at the police stations upon their appointment. Furthermore, all interested and qualified applicants should signify their interest in writing as application together with the required documents, to wit:

  1. Letter of application;
  2. Fully accomplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS) with recent passport sized picture;
  3. Transcript of Records and Diploma Authenticated with receipts;
  4. Certificate of Eligibility (Authenticated);
  5. Certificate of Training (if required for the position); Authenticated with receipt;
  6. Certificate of Employment, if any;
  7. NBI Clearance (1 original and 1 authenticated copy with receipt);
  8. NSO Birth certificate (original copies with receipt) and;
  9. NSO Marriage Certificate, if applicable (1 original and 1 authenticated copy);

       In addition , the applicants who will pass the initial screening will undergo a number of screening stages such as Medical examinations, Neuro-Psychiatric Test and Drug Test in government and diagnostic centers, then the Regional Health Service 8 will validate the results that will be pass on to the selection and screening board. Pay grade for these positions will range from salary grade 7 to 9 and will likely receive a monthly salary of about P 17,473.00. The list of vacancies is published at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) website and the PRO8 Facebook page. Hence, the Office of RPHRDD is accepting folders for possible applicants.

200 New Eastern Visayas Cops Take their Oath

        Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – A total of 200 PNP recruits have just taken their oath which was administered by no less than Eastern Visayas Police Director PCSUPT DIONARDO BERNARDO CARLOS on March 11, 2019 at the PRO8 Grandstand right after the traditional Flag Raising ceremony.

        Out of the 1,028 aspiring applicants for the 1st Cycle 2018 Recruitment Attrition Quota, 262 passed the rigorous process. However, only 200 PNP recruits were accommodated for the said quota, the 62 excess qualified applicants were endorsed to the PNP Headquarters at Camp Crame, Quezon City wherein they will be given opportunity to commence their training to different regions nationwide.

        These new breed of police officers will undergo the mandatory training, the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) for 6 months at the Regional Training Center (RTC) at Kuta Kankabato, San Jose, Tacloban City which will be followed by another 6 months of Field Training Program (FTP).

        “Today is a new chapter of your lives. May this serve as your humble beginning in the PNP organization,” RD Carlos said.

        Further, RD Carlos encourages more qualified applicants for the 2nd Cycle Recruitment.

        PRO8 advises interested applicants to secure the necessary initial documentary requirements while waiting for the opening of the 2nd Cycle Recruitments which is still to be announced by the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).
